This loot isn’t so bad if I didn’t haul up from Shiseido (skin care as usual) last Tuesday night.

I did mention earlier that am ditching my tan, right? On my current skin tone (Monave Sandra, two shades up from Monave Canela), The Body Shop’s Lightening Touch #3 (Php 795) is my under eye area’s saving grace. I discovered this sometime 2005, a few hours before an event I’m hosting. I left my YSL Touch Éclat at home and another wand is out of budget. I was supposed to get the TBS’ pencil concealer when I chanced on this. It used to be a wand and tube and I honestly prefer that over this. This formula’s more fragrant than the original variant too such that this smells like Jovan Musk. Performance wise, it’s still the same. It’s still a highlighter that’s got “ingenious little light-diffusing particles minimize fine lines and dark shadows”. Love this magic wand pen!

Confession: I am a bit of a masochist when it comes to hair removal. I’ve never been hairy, hairy but I am a daughter of a woman with absolutely no arm and leg hair (ugh). I’m also about 3-4 shades darker than my mom so just imagine how “dirty” I feel like whenevs were’re seated next to each other during summer (read: in shorts and tanks).

I think my fuzz-free obsession started way back soph year high when I learned how to tweeze my eyebrows. Oh yes. That’s also the time Gwen Stefani’s so big I even managed to make my brows look like hers (read: non-existent). After waiting for like forever for my eyebrows to grow back, I swore I’ll keep off my eyebrows and focus on other areas instead. LOL I never liked shaving my legs because I’m clumsy. I tried it once and I think I’m all too concerned of cutting my legs that I actually cut it (doh!). Ahhhh then I learned how to wax.

DIY hot waxing, while inexpensive (almost about Php200 for a big Epilin pan) and usually effective, if done incorrectly won’t just burn your skin but can also make one big, ugly mess. I learned it the hard way when I dripped over my carpet (doh! x2). This accident in turn introduced me to waxing and sugaring strips.

Ahhhh. This baby IMHO, is the best invention ever next to the MAC 222. They’re so easy to use (just warm up the strip between your hands by rubbing ‘em vigorously for a few seconds, split the sheets, press on area to be waxed, and pull off against the hair growth direction in one swift move), neat, convenient, and economical (a box of 10 strips cost me a little over Php700 and that’s way cheaper than getting a wax job at reputable salons).

Am honestly not stoked about the colors available (huge fan of gunmetals, lime, and teals here) here in MNL but their brushes are mighty foiiiiiiine! The kabuki foundation and blush brush are both tagged at Php 995 while the eye shadows and eye shadow brush is Php795. All brushes have TBS’ signature synthetic hair.

Sophie asked me sumin roughly a month back:

What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire?

I know this is so late but without batting an eyelash, here’s what I’ll do:

  1. Feed and send as many street kids as I can to school.
  2. Go to as many countries as I can and photograph to death
  3. Start an extensive rare gem collection (can’t blame the girl who hails from a fam of jewelers ;) )
  4. Send all my good friends from the US, UK, and Australia round trip tickets to MNL for my birthday! YAY!
  5. Send everyone I know a tub of my HG body scrub:

If you’ve been waiting for Oceanus to actually spring back on The Body Shop’s shelves, am afraid to to break this to you myself: IT WILL NOT HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON (hey, never say never!). But but but the scent guys of The Body Shop thought of something really brilliant: they’ve created a scent so close to our old time favorite and aptly called it “Aqua Lily”!

A delicate, blissful fresh water fragrance to uplift, exhilarate and inspire. Ideal for customers who enjoy wearing fresh, floral fragrances.

Fragrance notes include green apple, watermelon, dewy bamboo, tangerine, pink pepper, muguet, lily, rose, violet, reseda, cedarwood and musk. (Source)”
