Okay now for the highlight of my night!

Good friends know very well how much of an electronica junkie I am. I’ve always been interested in making my own music but I never met my perfect instrument until I tried on this Pioneer mixer at Club V two years ago. I am very blessed to be mentored by two of the country’s most influential DJs Boyet Sison and Mon Maramba (who’s already spinning in CA). I never went pro because really, I’d rather sleep at night than party. Whenever am out for a gig though, I’m always asked who’re my fave electronica artists. I can always add a couple of new artists but Chicane, Zero 7, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, Groove Armada never left my list. Out of those favorites, Chicane’s the only band (yes, they’re a band and not just 1 DJ) I’ve been fortunate to see thrice (last night was the third time).

Thanks to Nokia, I got to hang out with Chicane (!!!!!) pre-gig!

Backstage, I had two options:

1. Totally geek out and ask Nick Bracegirdle (guy holding the mic) for mixing tips.
2. Shut up, grin, and just enjoy being in the same room with them.

Good morning mi lurves! We’re a few hours away from this year’s Philippine Blog Awards night and am very proud to say that for the first time, am actually red carpet ready! Am not wearing anything extraordinary tonight (in fact, am just wearing a black top from Bo Couture, denims, and black pumps) but am all too concerned about my skin and hair since they’re flaring up like crazy the past 3 weeks. Stress has finally taken a toll on ‘em such that my face looks rather dull and my hair’s dead limp. Since my extra busy schedule won’t allow me to hit the spas and get me all primped up, I’ve decided to take two Saturdays off to just pamper myself back to tip top shape. So yes, in other words, I’ve DIYd to death again.

Last Saturday, Mother Goose and I did our nails, road tested two PCA Skin products, and wore facial masks. A little over a month ago, the Beautynomist and I quizzed this hottie about skin care and mineral makeup:

He mentioned that we need to continuously hydrate our skin to prevent aging. Key product to look for: hyaluronic acid. I got myself a pair of falsies from The Face Shop when I chanced on this mask:

YAY YAY YAY

It cost me only Php65 so I bought 2 so that mom and I can try it. On with our mini facials, we first cleansed our face with PCA Skin’s facial wash for oily/problem skin*. It was fragrance free and lathered quite nicely. Patting our skin dry, we checked for tightness or irritation…nothing. We followed it up with PCA Skin’s smoothing toner. For a pretty potent solution**, it smells (as funny as it may seem) like water! There’s no tightness nor redness too so we went on with our facial mask application.

After 15 minutes, we removed the masks and pat our skin dry with a towel (package says you’re not supposed to rinse the residue out). Was there a dramatic change? None. It felt rather relaxing while we had them on though.

Before I spill the beans…

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YER GREETINGS!!!!

Yesterday’s beyond words fantastic! It started with a string of really funny and sweet surprises from him that included this huge cake cookie and these really pretty flowers:

We had this VERY heavy late dinner and coffee somewhere in the South where whadyaknow I actually have a surprise party (well sort of)! Should I’ve known that we’re going out, going out I would’ve fixed myself up with this “birthday look” I’ve had in my head for weeks.

I’ve been asked quite a number of times what’s my birthday wish this year and from the original press release of just one wish, I’ve managed to come up with two more (after much probing)! Wish #1 is rather personal so I’ll just keep that to myself and whoever am sharing this wish with. Wish #2 is that I hope I can retain my waistline forever! hahaha Digits wise, it’s now equal to my age. It’s finally proportioned to my really wide hips so yeah, am totally stoked about that. Wish #3 is that I hope I can look young forever (ok this is where the SwipeSomeGloss chronicles resume hahahaha). At this point, the last thing I want to hear is that I look harassed or worse, old. For three years now, I’ve been shuffling programs and skin care systems non-stop that targets both prevention and minimization of existing age spots and signs.
