I have mixed feelings that the weekend’s finally over. Am uber-happy cause of course, work and stress is finally over for my friendly suppliers and friends but very sad cause am back in my real work desk and it looks no where close to this:

B&M’s booth come day 2

For those who missed going there, you also missed taking this loot bag home for free:

~PhP500 worth of samples!

I will be posting a separate entry on what the loot bag contains and more quick stories on the weekend shebangs. I’ll leave you now with my day 2 loot snap:

2 tube tops from The Dressing Room - PhP300 each
Bijoux De Lou Love Spinner necklace - PhP1150
+ my MMU loot bag (thanks, Ate Sandra!)

It’s not in anyway massive but they will definitely remind me of the weekend I spent with my “boothmates” and MMU zone neighbors. ;)

Last night the girls ambushed me…THE OTHER WAY AROUND! :o They went to my house 10pm-ish for a makeover! Just my luck, all of them have really flawless and creamy skin *le sigh*. As I was cleaning my spare brushes, it got me thinking–what if someone asks me “what is the one brush you will bring to a deserted island?” As much as I’d LOVE to say the MAC 222 or 224, me thinks that it’s just right on impractical to live with an eye shadow brush (what if I need to apply foundation and cheek color???). ;) I think the next safe answer for me’s the MAC 187 (yes, like everyone else LOL). I loved mine to bits sans the handle. I thought (well felt rather) that the handle’s too long for personal application so I asked my friend to “adopt” it. :) The next best thing I have at hand is Bare Escentuals’ Feather Light brush. Its handle’s length is perfect for me as I apply my makeup really close to the mirror! ;)

say hello to my BE Feather Light brush

:)

Am quite popular to push products and tools to its limits so that’s basically what I did–I tried to put on a decent face using just 3 brushes (Bare Escentuals’ Feather Light brush, a flat shader and an angled liner). YOWZA! Lemme tell you I was freaked out after I finished applying everything! I cannot believe I was able to cover and conceal my (currently and hopefully will soon improve) bad skin! :o Here’s my output (click the photo for the unedited VGA size…at your own risk heehee):

Pardon the shine as hey, am just roadtesting a brush before I sleep so I’d rather save my mattefiers and all for “actual” use. Oh oh! And may I just remind you that I still am breaking out (esp. on the left side of my face)? ;) This brush & Bare Escentuals foundation’s just made for each other (MFEO)! Here’s what I used:

FOUNDATION: Bare Escentuals’ Foundation in TAN
CHEEKS: Valerie Beauty CENTERFOLD Illuminizing Finishing Powder (from the Pinup Girl Collection)
LID WASH: Monave BUTTERCUP
CREASE: BE Glimmer in PURE SPICE (me thinks I’ll use this more often! Too pretty in person!)
LINERS: MAC PINK BRONZE pigment from Aileen + BE Glimmer in BEACH GODDESS
BROWS: TFS Automatic eye brow pencil in BROWN
LIPS: MAC 3D Glass in APEX

Damnnnn am so amused wiv this discovery! I cannot wait to roadtest a bunch of “stippling” brushes wiv different brands! I was chatting with Juliet early this morning and told her that am theorizing that there’s rocket science in the said kind of brush. ;) I’ll update you once I get my hands on other brands, kk? :P

ps. Is it just me or the band on my head makes me look like a make-up samurai (if there’s such thing)? LOL

Experience healthy and skin-friendly makeup, and feel the difference! Bringing the sensation from the US, we are launching the concept of mineral makeup here in the Philippines. This marks a first as all the mineral makeup brand vendors in the Philippines come together in one venue to celebrate mineral makeup and create more awareness about it to the market. Six brands would be joining, and as a treat, free samples will be given away, as well as free makeovers and skin consultations.

Moreover, talks will be held by skin specialists, makeup artists, and MMU brand owners as they showcase their strengths and advantages, and show us how to create simple yet stunning day and night looks.

More details’re HERE.
Again, again…the organizers are giving away 300 FREE mineral makeup loot bags worth Php500 each + a free mirror if you come on Saturday (head on to the link for more details) ;)

SEE YOU THERE! :)

Just because am really determined to prove that BE’s Well Rested is my Photoshop in a pot, here goes a short tutorial on how I use WR. :)

Oh and yes, I DID use Photoshop on the photos below but its use was only limited to image cropping and putting the before and after pics together. It’s totally pointless to perfect make-up application if you’re gonna use Photoshop to edit, right? ;)

Tools of Trade:

BE Well Rested
Taklon Concealer Brush

Step 1: Prep your face and eye area

It’s your call if you want to moisturize or use a primer. I used BE’s Prime Time on my face and Olay TE on my eye area.

Step 2: Apply your foundation

I used Bare Escentuals Medium + Tan.

Step 3: Spritz up

That’s pretty mandatory for me since I want to make my foundation last the whole day.

Step 4: Buff in some finishing powder

I used Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil.

Step 5: Get some Well-Rested

This is how much I use for one eye. This is good enough for the whole eye area. Don’t forget to swirl and tap!

Step 6: Apply WR on the eye area

I personally pat in the color first and then VERY gently swipe everything after to smoothen and perfect.

Step 7: Check for patches

See that area between the side of my (barely there) nose bridge and eye corner? Don’t forget to put some WR on that area too! ;)

All done!

I look pretty well-rested huh? :) If you must, add another layer of finishing powder.
