Biospa Foo—what? Simply put, it’s a 30 minute treatment that sends very mild current (hardly noticeable) to the body through a circuit. The current generates positive charged ions that bind with negative charged toxins. The negative ions are neutralized then purged out of the body through about 4000 pores that’re on the bottom of the feet. It also alkalizes our blood and tissue hence correcting the ph balance in our bodies. WHEW.
The Biospa Footbath Detoxifier (can I just call it BFD? It’s so long! Yes? Yes? Thank you!) isn’t something new in the Philippine market. I’ve heard about this treatment from my bestie’s mom over Conti’s merienda about four years ago. She and her friends just had the treatment (somewhere in BF too) and to be perfectly honest with you, I was so grossed out to learn that the procedure would mean seeing flecks of toxins come out of the body. Am hardly squeamish but my imagination’s whacked like that and drawing mental photos really got me. Fast forward to last Thursday, Jayvee and I went spa scouting in BF again and ended up in WM Medical Spa along Aguirre Avenue in BF. We both got the combination massage (Php 500) and I can safely say that it’s one of the best ones I’ve tried under a thousand bucks. The room for two’s not very cold, kneading strokes were fluid, and the massage oil didn’t give me allergies. Perfect school day ender, I tell you. On our way out, we saw the chart below and told ourselves that we should try it soon:

“Soon” managed to arrive too soon such that we found ourselves in the same spa two days after we saw the chart.

Inside the WM Medical Spa
While waiting for my therapist to become available, I asked the receptionist who should try this treatment. On top of her head she enumerated:
- Smokers
- Alcohol consumers
- Individuals suffering from low immunity, high stress, diabetes, hypertension, high blood sugar, arthritis or just about anyone who wants to get rid of environmental toxins from their bodies.
Furthermore, she told me some of the reported benefits of going through the BFD twice a month:
- increased energy (I NEED THIS!!!)
- allergy relief
- blood pressure and circulation improvement
- water retention reduction
- muscle and joint pain relief
Our little Q&A’s cut short as my therapist is ready to perform some magic. Here are some snaps from my treatment:

Treatment starts with a good, not so scratchy scrub. LOVE!

Hello feet!

They strap something on your wrist and connect it…

HERE

Timer’s set for 30 minutes

La la la la la…oh yeah, I have big legs like that
Thank you dancing and field hockey!

After 20 minutes: color started to change and toxic flecks’re coming out

After 30 minutes: EEEEEK!
Looking at the chart, orange toned water means “joint, smoking habit, fat impurities, and edema”. Since I’m a non-smoker and free of any joint problems, I deem that the water turned into this color because of the fat impurities and my hyperthyroidism (also causes edema). My therapist told me that I have very few toxic flecks compared to her other clients. Very happy to hear that!

Rinsing up in soapy water

Hello feet (again)!

PERFECT ENDING: great foot and leg massage!
Seeing toxic flecks aside, I did like the treatment. It’s affordable at Php500 a pop since you’ll get a foot and leg scrub, massage, and detox. It’s so relaxing that in between photos, I managed to doze off really deep! I thought it was just me trying to convince myself that it actually works but I’ve asked around and found out that other fans also felt lighter and slept better after the treatment. Good stuff!

I tried this! Home service, Php250 only with reflexology pa.
How come yours looks so clean?
Mine was really orange. Too orange, it seemed brown.
I took pictures also.
Refreshed feeling after.
Where can we get in touch with your therapist???
Hmmmm…it might be due to my high fruits and veggies diet. Not sure but I chow on that a lot plus don’t eat lots of red meat (not a big fan) and drink so little alcohol these days (to the tune of 2 glasses of wine MAX per two weeks!).
Will ask mommy.
She sells those units. How much? Php 34,000!
We just opted to pay for her service.
