Before I spill the beans…

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YER GREETINGS!!!!
Yesterday’s beyond words fantastic! It started with a string of really funny and sweet surprises from him that included this huge cake cookie and these really pretty flowers:

We had this VERY heavy late dinner and coffee somewhere in the South where whadyaknow I actually have a surprise party (well sort of)! Should I’ve known that we’re going out, going out I would’ve fixed myself up with this “birthday look” I’ve had in my head for weeks.

Venice and Kitty
LOVE my hair the other night!
I’ve been asked quite a number of times what’s my birthday wish this year and from the original press release of just one wish, I’ve managed to come up with two more (after much probing)! Wish #1 is rather personal so I’ll just keep that to myself and whoever am sharing this wish with. Wish #2 is that I hope I can retain my waistline forever! hahaha Digits wise, it’s now equal to my age. It’s finally proportioned to my really wide hips so yeah, am totally stoked about that.
Wish #3 is that I hope I can look young forever (ok this is where the SwipeSomeGloss chronicles resume hahahaha). At this point, the last thing I want to hear is that I look harassed or worse, old. For three years now, I’ve been shuffling programs and skin care systems non-stop that targets both prevention and minimization of existing age spots and signs.
I got to try REVALÉSKIN early this year was very pleased with the results. I’d rave and rave about it endlessly amongst my friends but unfortunately, as much as they’d like to try it, its price tag’s just too steep. Being the bargain lover that I am, I went out scouting for a save version. For almost three months now, I’ve been using Pond’s Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream SPF 15 PA++ (in jar, Php699), Pond’s Age Miracle Overnight Repair Cream (in jar, Php699), and very recently (started using it 5 days ago), the Pond’s Age Miracle Eye Cream (in tube, Php349). IMHO, I was able to achieve roughly same result that I got from REVALÉSKIN even if it took me quite a while to see them. Since we’re the worst judges of our own appearance, I just went on my daily ish and see if others would notice. Here’s how I learned from other people that the first two products work:
Proof #1 Sometime late June, about day 10 of road testing
One of my cousins pinched my cheeks and complimented me that my skin’s so firm and it looks so fine (this was before my PCA peel treatment). She said it quite loudly such that 4 aunts had to check it themselves *ouch* and said the same thing! They even said I look better without makeup.
Proof #2 Sometime mid-July
I was in Powerbooks browsing around in my school uniform (a chef’s jacket) when this guy approached me, introduced himself, and hit on me all under 30 seconds. I smiled politely and asked if my hunch is correct that he’s in 2nd year high school. Turns out my assumption is correct and blushed when I told him that I’m nearly twice his age and can pass as his youngest teacher. He excused himself and said: “Sorry miss, kala ko mga first year college ka palang (I thought you’re at least in first year college)…”. I went to college at 16 so I look 9 years younger? Not bad!
Proof #3: Last Saturday
I went to my goddaughter’s birthday party last weekend and come chow time, I was handed this plate:

The waitress had other plates on her tray and we were wondering how come he didn’t get a plate right? We asked another waiter what gives and he explained that adults get the (Shakey’s) Bunch of Lunch. We asked what’s the difference between that and what I got. His answer? I got a KIDDIE MEAL. Jayvee and I just LOL’ed until he got his meal and got mine replaced.
Sounds too good to be true eh? I love every bit about both face creams but I do have a minor gripe about the night cream. As much as I love how it makes me look well rested in the morning, I wish they’ll actually package this in a pump bottle like the day cream. I find it quite tasking to sanitize my plastic spatula every night. I don’t really have much inputs about the eye cream since I’ve only been using it for 5 days. I think I can safely say though that it doesn’t sting, moisturizes the eye area quite well, and doesn’t cake or crease with my Monave Buttercup. What do I love most about this baby? The gel-cream consistency and packaging! It’s small enough to fit in my vanity pouch and it squirts just the right mount of product everytime.

you’re such a cute kitty!
Happy Birthday Phoebe. You look so gorgeous and ravishing, I hope Jayvee kissed you a birthday greeting for me. sorry I can’t celebrate with you, as it is hubby’s birthday.
Hey Phoebe! My mom’s a “fan” of the age miracle line as well. Eek. You’re making me want to try the day cream. LOL We bought the “new” age miracle eye cream. It’s now in a jar too–the pink one’s for the upper eyelid and the white one’s for the undereye area. I thought they got rid of the one in the tube, but I went to a Mercury Drugstore near my place yesterday and saw that they were still selling the ones in tubes.

@Micah
Have you tried the eye cream in a tube? If you’ve had, how was it?
Might the Pond’s 7DAYS promo interest you? Sayang the freebee! Perfect for sampling plus there’s a Php100 off voucher that you can use should you decide to get the full size jar.

you never look a year older! i recall the first time i saw you, your face didnt change at all!
so is pond’s better than olay total effects?
@chay
OKKKKKK
@shen
Do buzz me if it works for you
@Lil
For some reason my face likes Pond’s better. Love Olay’s Clarity Facial Cleanser though.
Thank you and thank you!
Hi girls, if I may share — I first tried 1 full bottle of Olay TE (gentle formula), then switched to Pond’s after to compare. I actually got similar compliments like Phoebe (yes, even down to the 10 yrs younger ”mistake” LOL!) when using BOTH products! Found Pond’s less greasy (I’m combi skin), but todate, still hate the smell. The new 2-step eye cream (in a jar) IMHO is more an application hassle vs. the tube. The tube’s easier to apply, bring around, and more sanitized (no finger-dipping etc). I still use the serum and day creams in the pump bottle cuz of the convenience of application. Pump bottles are better esp when toting them around for traveling (wish they came in travel sizes too!). The new jars are so messy and heavy kasi. I don’t know why Pond’s changed packaging pa. Got the 10g sample of the new ‘re-surfacing’ day cream, and saw it has that same pearly-iridescent sheen that L’Oreal’s Revitalift line had–yikes. It gave me that weird glow that made my natural color look…odd. Weird cuz L’Oreal designed Revitalift for those in their 40s, but I’m approaching mid-30s so I felt it was too early to use. I switched back to the original Pond’s in the pump bottle tuloy, and still use it today.
I find Olay TE Gentle Formula greasy too, Rezywezy. Funny, before Pond’s released the Age Miracle line, Olay boasts that they only have 1 product that can address 7 signs of skin aging. Whadyaknow they now have an eye cream and mask as well!
RE: Pond’s smell
It is quite fragrant but nothing that I can’t stand.
RE: Pearly-iridescent sheen
Sorry to hear that it’s that obvious on you. :-/
RE: Pond’s serum
Since we have the same skin type, how’s it working for you? Have you tried using it during daytime and under makeup? I like its almost silicone-y finish and might try it when I finish the night cream.
teeheehee!
what a great birthday gift! looking 10 years younger!!
Haha, yes found it ironic that the ‘completeness’ of Olay had to be complemented by line extensions.
I actually like using Pond’s serum (even Olay’s), and I put it BEFORE I put the moisturizer. I sometimes use it more often alone under my MMU, and it works fine (I’m just banking on my MMU’s SPF to work for me, hehe). I’ve yet to get into the night cream habit, tho.
belated happy birthday!
