Showing off our INDIEvidiuality the Royal Elastics way
Royal Elastics together with Juice.ph brought the house down last Friday (May 9) with the first and biggest indie concert to hit the Philippines — INDIEvidiuality: The Royal Elastics Road Tour. Yours truly was present and have witnessed a flashback of my college and early working years as soon as I stepped into the doors of Warehouse 135 (read: the crowd was very young). Seriously.

Once upon a time, I was out every single night…
Clad in my office wardrobe (no more time to change!), Nimbusnine + Godswill, Sinosikat?, and Cambio eased me from all the day’s stress and prepped me up for the weekend.

I’ve always seen pairs and pairs of Royal Elastics in magazines and in stores (the one from MoA rocks) but it was only until early this year that I’ve actually asked an owner what makes a pair so special (and so expensivo). Apparently, like soccer socks, they’re really soft and cushioned. I also learned very recently (wow someone got schooled!) that these kicks were designed by two Australian skateboarders (Tull Price and Rodney Adler) who thought that the world would be a better and more fashionable place without shoelaces.
Here are more snaps from the said event:

Auctioned off were two pairs of limited edition kicks:

a pair of Kogal Low Tex from the Harajuku Lovers line for the gals

and a pair of Resi Warhol kicks for the guys.

The lucky guy who got the Warhols about Php 3000 less!
We wanted to stay the entire night but all of us had things to do early Saturday so we only caught three acts:

Nimbusnine + Godswill

Sinosikat?

and Cambio.
Am not definite if they made it but Nyco Maca + Playground, Taken by Cars, and Pedicab were expected to perform that night as well. The night of course wouldn’t end without camwhoring so this is me with my two dates, feeling all college-y and giddy:

Don’t forget to visit our local Royal Elastics site and Juice.ph for promos and the schedule of subsequent tour events happening at SM Mall of Asia, La Salle (wooohoooo…oops sorry I got carried away with the whole pseudo student persona
), and Ateneo.
