Meet my new best friend, My USA Mailbox

Sometime last week, one of the ads running here SSG caught my eye:

8O

As a victim of about 5 lost MMU packages, their slogan worked its magic on me effortlessly. I clicked on the ad (click HERE to be directed to the site) and went through the company’s profile (they’re powered by LBC which is great) and FAQ. I’ve already signed up, shipped out my form 1583 (you don’t have full access to your account until you send in this form), and have just checked out a couple of items from Sephora and MACPro. :mrgreen:

*le sigh* Is this great or what???? :)

I’ve always wanted to be a member here but how much would it all cost? Do you have to pay monthly dues even if you don’t order anything? I think if I remember correctly their minimum shipping is $15 consolidated right? (I never sent in my form 1583).

If I have a use this when buying items in the US, will this be safe from the Customs? I want to buy items in the US but just thinking of the taxes and Custom officers I have to deal kept me from buying online.

How does this compare to Johnny Air Cargo?

i tried a similar service (forwardit.us) to buy stuff naman from Drugstore.com. these service providers add up to our beauty lemmings noh?! :D next time i wanna try Sephora and MAC Pro too haha.

i think its safer since LBC handles it. i will be calling them via their hotline to ask detailed questions. :)

@Nikkiz
There are no monthly dues. There’s a 1lb. minimum (consolidated or not) that will cost you $25 (air cargo).

@Badet
Let me quote from MyUSAMailbox’s site :)

Q. Do I have to pay Customs Duties?
A. For your convenience, MYUSAMAILBOX partners will handle all of the customs procedures for free. You are however responsible for the payment of such duties which is included each time you have items shipped. So, make sure that you fully disclose the value of the packages that you will ship from the U.S. to the Philippines . This value could be retail price, wholesale price, or any other value you feel is reasonable. Please note that our responsibility is simply to put the value you indicate in the customs form. You are ultimately responsible for determining the value and MYUSAMAILBOX will not be responsible for any delays.

I haven’t tried JAC, btw.

@Mhean
How’s the service of forwardit.us naman? :)

@shen
ahhh good luck! The hotline’s always busy! :roll:

@kibi
