The Relaunch: Blue Water Day Spa

Posted by Phoebe
May 9, 2008

What came with my dinner last, last Monday:

*snicker*

No, SwipeSomeGloss hasn’t gone dirty. Together with a handful of new media folks, I was privileged to witness the relaunch of Blue Water Day Spa at the Crowne Plaza. Two attendants of BWDS performed the Sahara Oasis Massage, one of the rather popular treatments, on the guy above.

The Sahara Oasis Massage is inspired by the passion and poetry of the desert—combining renewing and purifying phases with warm and harmonizing movements. These movements, known as effleurage, a French word meaning “to skim” or “to touch lightly,” is a series of massage strokes that begin from the navel before radiating to the body’s extremities. The soothing strokes are applied to the body using distinct “waving” movements that loosen up the body, ease tension away and relax tired muscles. These light touches stimulate the body’s nerve endings, rather than work deeply on the tissues, to restore vitality, and infuse the mind with quietude and peace.

Music, an important part of the Sahara Oasis Massage, consists of Arabian spiritual chants that encourage the body’s total relaxation and submission to the sensuous play of the fingers, fist and palmer surface of the hands. The therapist conducts this ritual massage with a noticeable sway on the hips that reflects the hypnotic gyrations of a belly dancer. The soothing movement helps transmit a sense of serenity and well-being to the recipient. The Sahara Oasis Massage also bestows nourishment, youth and splendor to all types of skin—imparting a healthy and radiant glow to the complexion.

Treatment demo #2 aka. the Chocolate Slimming Mud Therapy was performed on a lady. Before I can even turn my back around, all the shooters have already swarmed her! I was able to get a shot but Ironwulf did a better job (read: he’s probably one of the “swarmers”. Kidding, Ferdz! :) ):

The Chocolate Slimming Mud Therapy is a body meso-sculpture treatment which improves the skin tone, while smoothening its texture and giving it a delightful youthful suppleness. More than that, the therapy helps in tightening and firming the tissues to help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

After an indulging treatment, skin feels immediately softer, smoother and firmer. The mind and the senses will remain relaxed for hours. Regular treatments of Chocolate Slimming Mud Therapy, combined with diet and proper exercise, will certainly help keep your skin toned and supple—setting up your skin and body for effective slimming.

The event was hosted by the super hawt model-stylist-make-up artist-host (whew) Bianca Valerio:

Bianca gushing over Piolo

There was a dating game but boyyyy the ladies just boxed me out! Here’s the lone photo I have of PP:

(Papa) Piolo gushing back heeeheee

The heartthrob was asked why out of the gazillion spas around today, he chose to endorse BWDS. He quips back:

“I like the line up of services that Blue Water Day Spa offers. Its massage services vary from the easy, relaxing types to those that make the body trimmer. I need that variety because the body has different needs. Another thing that’s going for Blue Water Day Spa is that it offers many unique treatments that are exclusive to it. One innovative treatment is the Chocolate Mud Slimming Treatment. This is deep-tissue massage uses the specially-formulated chocolate mud to keep the skin supple while getting rid of toxins and setting up the body for effective slimming. Blue Water Day Spa gives me a lot of options and makes the whole spa experience more exciting and interesting,”

While waiting for Marian, Sophie asked Bianca a very good question that I bet will get you gals hoarding the nearest SM, Robinsons, and Landmark (hey finish reading my post first!!!!). I can vouch for the one that starts with an “F” too! Commuter and crybaby proof! ;)

The Beautynomist and Bianca (checkout their eye makeup! YOWZA!)

When Marian arrived, Sophie and I naturally went on a shooting frenzy. I couldn’t decide which photo to post so here’s a good handful:

My fellow hiker, Ferdz, won the dating game! :D

Is it just me or Marian actually looks kilig next to Ferdz?

Last two!

We can just look at her all day, eh? :)

Marian of course, was asked the same question directed to Piolo. She replied:

What I look for in a spa is privacy and exclusivity and Blue Water Day Spa has exactly that. After a day of taping, gusto ko pag pasok ko sa spa, I can shed my celebrity image and just be myself—Marian the private person, not the actress. Maganda ang ambience ng Blue Water Day Spa—it’s quiet, very relaxing and very private.

I also find Blue Water Day Spa to be cozy and clean—mahalaga din sa akin ‘yun. And more than that, its massage specialists and staff are very precise when it comes to rhythm and pressure. Alam nila ang ginagawa nila and they do their jobs professionally. Nothing is more relaxing than leaving yourself in the hands of experts and just enjoy an honest-to-goodness pampering.

Post photo op, Marian and Ferdz were supposed to have a one on one moment but it was spoiled by media (them asking about Dyesebel and her countless billboards along EDSA)! :x

This is why dating a celeb isn’t always good :(

Breathing room’s gone from little to zero as soon as the floor was opened to the press for more spa related questions reason why I ended up outside, checking out the products BWDS use:
