Product Spotlight: VMV Superskin 3 Toner

Product: VMV Superskin 3 Toner

What It Is: A toner “with higher doses of Retinoic Acid and Clindamycin. Retinoic Acid, a proven Alpha Hydroxy Acid, provides exfoliation, unclogs pores, tones and firms up the skin. It also allows Clindamycin to work at a more profound level of the skin. Clindamycin, an effective antibiotic, disinfects, treats, and prevents acne. Effectively softens, deep cleans and clears up acne.” Source.

Ingredients: Each 100 mL contains Clindamycin Phosphate 30 mg, Retinoic Acid 5.0mg, Alcohol, Water, Benzyl Alcohol.

Wallet Damage: PhP510 for 150ml

The Swiper’s Verdict: B (It could’ve been an A but it’s too expensive!)

Note: This toner’s also available for dry and combination skin types.

Did I tell you what kind of weird facial skin I have? If I haven’t then brace yourself! :lol: I have this (really) allergy prone, combination (leaning to oily), burns and cuts easily skin. Yes, you read that: cuts. Once a month I get about 3-6 PMS breakouts that are 9/10 times just red and painful. Here’s the catch: for some reason my breakouts tend to bleed in the morning! OUCH! :cry: I’ve made a trip to the dermatologist years and years ago (about 10 years if my memory serves me right) and she told me that the skin around and the one covering my PMS breakouts are rather thin that little pressure can cause it to cut up. To further picture, I wake up with red dots on the pillow I use on my head. I assume I get cut from the scratching my face gets from my pillows (silk/satin covers doesn’t work for me, btw). :oops: :cry: :roll:

This is also why once a month, I use a really hard core cleansing routine. Hard core simply means totally antibacterial and the whole mild exfoliation shebangs. The toner that’s on our product spotlight right now is my HG toner during this icky time of the month. It’s my 911 in a bottle: antibac and exfoliant rolled into one. What I love about it is that even if it smells really strong (it’s pretty bearable, trust me), it gets the job done! You might have come across me all cut up one day and totally scar-free the week after. Well, there goes the secret! :)

i use vmv superskin’s cleanser, toner and moisturizer for combination skin, and it does a pretty good job at keeping the pms acne at bay.

wow and i thought i had the most problematic skin! i feel for yah. anyhoo, you are not alone in purchasing an expensive toner! i am using Burt Bee’s Cucumber and Tomato Toner going for P795 for 236ml. ;D we rip our wallets for beauty’s sake. :D

@richelle
Hooray for another VMV Superskin fan :P

@Mhean
I’ve tried a lot of more expensive stuff (Sekkisei, Shu, Murad…name it) but only this, Celeteque, and my dermatologists’ preparations seem to work for me. Am just prolly saying it’s expensive because Celeteque costs about half of it and so does my derma’s :lol: But really, P500 isn’t much for something that actually works ;)
