Here goes the second installment of my massive eye creams, gels, and treatments review. Again, keep in mind the following:

  • Do not expect too much from your little hope in a jar (or tube for that matter). Some might see visible results while some won’t. What’s important is that you follow the instructions explicitly placed on the product label. Give it at least 3-4 weeks on continuous use unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.
  • These reviews are based on my own experience. I’ve posted photos in the past on how my eye area looks like with and without makeup. I’ve abused my body a lot lately though by not getting enough sleep and this is what am dealing with:

Yes, I go out make-up free too and no, am not naked here (was wearing a tube LOL)

That said, let’s move on. :)

I promised through a comment three days ago that I will post my recommendations on what eye creams I can vouch for. Here goes my partial list:

St.Ives Cucumber Eye & Face Stress Gel
A soothing gel that combines cucumber and other natural ingredients to hydrate and revitalize skin. Works to reduce the signs of stress, fatigue, fine lines, puffiness and shadows to reveal a more refreshed, vibrant look.

Confession: when you guys see me sooo well rested, it means I basked my face with this. I’ve been using this since college (so that’s about 5 years to date) and I’ve been a fanatic since then. Before doing my makeup, I put this on and run ice on my face. I pat off the water and excess gel with tissue after 3 minutes and do my usual moisturizing and make-up routine. I know it’s not supposed to be used that way but that’s how I do it. :)

Do you mi lurves know when the MNG sale’s going to end (someone obviously forgot to ask LOL)? Am just surprised that there are a LOT of great picks on the racks still! If only I didn’t overspend the past months… :(

Anyway, part of my new year’s resolution is to wear more skirts. More skirts without tights to be specific. ;)

Out of the three tutorials I posted in my personal site last year, I believe this is the one that has garnered the most views and comments. I think it’s because of my beautiful friend Shazen’s comment… ;)

Just g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!!!

I hope you’ll enjoy this tut as much as I enjoyed creating it! :)
Tools of Trade:

VERY IMPORTANT

Do your makeup BEFORE putting those falsies on. Oh and yes, I did exaggerate the lower lash work for drama! ;)
Step 1: Curl + apply mascara

Step 2: Cut and re-shape your falsies

I got lucky on this pair that I didn’t need to cut it. To re-shape (this makes the application easier), dot a bit of glue on both ends and hold it up your fingers like the one on the photo for a minute.

Step 3: Apply adhesive

Apply a thin line of adhesive and wait for it to be a bit tacky since it won’t stick properly if it’s still fresh/wet.

NOTE: I was a bit lazy to clean up the falsies before doing this tut. The glue in between the lashes’re there since I bought it. This is the drawback when you buy those cheap China ones. :(
Step 4: Use those tweezers!

I usually use 2 tweezers where I hold the falsies on both ends but I feel like challenging myself a bit today and held it using just one. :p

Step 5: Look down at the mirror

Doing this will straighten up your lid and you’ll see EVERYTHING too!

Step 6: Apply and press

Go from the outside all the way inside the lid area. I pressed the falsies to set in place with the other end of the tweezers.

And VIOLA! You’re done!!! :)
