The day I was praying for not to come finally came: I ran out of Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O and the High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Fresh (both gifts from my friend Jill from the UK two years ago). *sniff* I’ve been totally restless for two weeks since I still cannot convince myself to cough out roughly $75 for the 450ml variant of the Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O since it’s just ridiculously expensivo! Being the lucky girl that I usually am, my online friend Joyce from GT dished out a totally amazing way to cleanse your face which is the OCM aka. Oil Cleansing Method.

There are plenty of sites that will run you down on how exactly you should do this. I chose the instructions laid by Suite101.com since it’s the simplest I found over 10 sites.

All that’s required to try the oil cleansing method is the right oils, a soft washcloth, and hot running water.1. Mix up a blend of extra virgin olive oil and castor oil - or any other natural, unprocessed oils that you prefer - see a partial list here.

2. Massage a small amount of the oils gently into your face. Spend a few minutes rubbing the oils into your cheeks, nose, forehead, neck, and chin, allowing the oils to penetrate into the skin and pull out wastes, bacteria, dead cells and other dirt.

3. Wring out a facecloth or washcloth in hot water, and drape it over your face to steam - it’s just like giving yourself a mini facial!

4. After a minute or so, wipe away the oil, along with any dirt, using the washcloth. Your skin should feel clean, soft, and moist with just a little of the OCM oil remaining on your face. If skin feels dry and tight, you can moisturize it using just a touch of the olive oil/castor oil blend.

I tried it and believe it or not, after a splash of cold water, the effect feels so close to the one I get from Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O! It’s bloody amazing, I tell you! This method’s dirt cheap too since for the EVOO I used is no more than PhP150 and the castor oil (bought from Mercury Drug or Watson’s, I just don’t remember) is no more than PhP30! I’ve been doing this for 3 days (I do this at night) in a row and there’s no new blemish in sight (in fact, the one between my eyes seems to be improving). :)

Thanks again, Joyce for this rec! You just made me a total believer! Me luvs it to bits! :-*

If you want to save BIG bucks, you must grab yourself one of these ASAP! ;)

I get my brows bleached once a month in this pretty popular salon in Makati for about 800 a pop. I really cannot complain because one, they do a pretty good job and two, they’re handing my eye area with TLC.

My bleaching session is due in 8 days time and I’ve already penned my appointment. I was doing my usual reading of Preview and Cosmo when I came across this article featuring this beauty product (from the later mentioned). It caught my attention since hey, it’s something that’s supposed to work for less than 400 bucks! It’s just by sheer chance that I was going through GirlTalk when Roanne (hey you!) mentioned that she used the same kit. After shooting questions here and there plus seeing her FOTD, I was sold!

I got my box from SM MegaMall last night and didn’t waste time when I got home. I was supposed to do a patch test but I thought that since am not sensitive to Sally Hansen’s prods anyway (bad girl!), I might as well bleach away. :p

Here are some snaps I took along the way:

Top Top to bottom: pre-bleaching, during, after FOUR minutes, after TWO MORE minutes

I just colored my hair burnt gold and the results after four minutes was not enough so I re-did the whole process. Round two gave me perfect results. :) I love, love, love the results of my little bleaching stint! :D

Thanks Cosmo and Roanne for this recommendation! :-*
